Privacy Policy

MoneySprout is a private, single-user personal financial management tool operated for its owner’s personal use. This policy describes how it handles information obtained through Plaid.

Information accessed

At the owner’s direction, MoneySprout may access account identity and metadata, balances, transaction history, liabilities, investment accounts and holdings, and institution information for accounts the owner connects.

How information is used

Information is used only to provide the owner with consolidated account views, budgeting, net-worth tracking, and portfolio analysis. MoneySprout does not use financial information for advertising, lending, underwriting, or sale.

Storage and sharing

The application runs locally on the owner’s Mac. Plaid access tokens and retrieved financial data are stored locally and are not intentionally shared with other users or data brokers. Plaid and connected financial institutions process information as necessary to establish and maintain connections.

Transactions

MoneySprout is read-only. It does not initiate payments, transfers, loans, or securities trades.

Retention and deletion

Local information is retained until the owner disconnects an institution or deletes the application data. Disconnecting an institution requests removal of the corresponding Plaid Item before deleting its locally stored access token. Connections may also be managed through Plaid Portal.

Security

MoneySprout limits access to the owner’s local Mac and does not expose the financial application through this public website. No method of storage is completely secure, but access is restricted and data sharing is minimized.

Your choices

The owner controls which institutions are connected and may disconnect an institution or request access, correction, or deletion of locally stored information at any time.
